IST To Host Astronaut Visit in Okemos, MI
Instrumented Sensor Technology, Inc. (IST) of Okemos, MI announces the upcoming visit of NASA Astronaut Andrew J. Feustel, Ph.D. to its facility. The visit, scheduled for Friday June 22, 2007 is being sponsored by one of IST’s long-standing customer’s, ATK (Alliant Tech Systems) of Brigham City, Utah. ATK manufactures and refurbishes the solid rocket motors (RSRMs) used in the U.S. Space Shuttle fleet. IST provides specialized instrumentation to ATK for monitoring shock and vibration on rocket motors during rail car transport from Brigham City, UT to Kennedy Space Center, FL. ATK selected IST for the astronaut visit as a result of being a key instrumentation vendor for ATK over the past 15-plus years.
Following the plant visit by Astronaut Andrew Feustel, IST is hosting an AV presentation, Q&A, and photo opportunities session by the Astronaut at the Okemos Hampton Inn & Suites and is specifically inviting Okemos K-12 students and local news media to attend. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday June 22 in conference rooms A & B at the Hampton Inn Okemos. Seating is limited and is on a first come first served basis, and conference room doors will open at 9 a.m. This will prove to be an interesting and timely presentation.
